Ongoing Services

CAS provides free services to our community 3 days a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) from 10 am to 1 pm by the members of our committee and the volunteers. We help our community members by providing:

Information and referral to other community, government, or private organisations
Settlement-related advice
Advice and counselling concerning individual rights and obligations
Advocacy and support letters to disadvantaged community members
Assistance with form filling related to Immigration, Citizenship, Housing, Centrelink, Health Services, etc.
Assistance to enrol in school and TAFE
Assistance to find work opportunities

Visits, Invitations, and Meetings

We visit, respond to invitations, and establish relations with other organisations, parliament members and ministers, federal and state, mayors and councillors to introduce our society and to put them in the picture about the Chaldeans and our views and opinions.

Consultation Meeting about Australia’s Humanitarian Programme 2015-16

On 16^th April 2015, the Chaldean Australian Society represented by Mr Younan Yousif, President, and Dr Emad Arabo, Secretary and Administration Coordinator, participated in the consultation meeting with the Hon Peter Dutton MP, Minister for Immigration and Border Protection, about Australia’s Humanitarian Programme 2015-16 and with participation of community organisations and peak bodies. We expressed our grave fears for more than 120,000 Christians forced to flee from Mosul city and Nineveh plain to Kurdistan region, Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey. We urged the Australian government to allocate significant number of visas to ethnic and religious Iraqi minorities in its Humanitarian Programme 2015-16.

Meeting with Mr Daniel Boyer, Assistant Secretary, Humanitarian Branch, DIBP

On 23^rd October 2014, the Chaldean Australian Society represented by Mr Younan Yousif, President, and Dr Emad Arabo, Secretary and Administration Coordinator, met with Mr Daniel Boyer, Assistant Secretary, Humanitarian Branch, Department of Immigration and Border Protection to discuss the Australia’s Refugee and Humanitarian Program regarding Iraqi Christians and other minorities. We explained to Mr Boyer the situation of Iraqi Christians in their homeland Iraq and the situation of Iraqi Christians asylum seekers and refugees in the neighboring countries to Iraq. Mr Boyer in turn expressed his sympathy with the displaced Iraqi Christians and understanding to their desperate situations.

Meeting of Iraqi-Australian Community Leaders

The Chaldean Australian Society represented by Mr Younan Yousif, President, and Dr Emad Arabo, Administration Coordinator, participated in the meeting of Iraqi-Australian community leaders held on 22^nd Sept 2014 at the NSW State Library by the Community Relations Commission – Multicultural NSW to discuss a number of issues to advance the peace and social harmony in this state and this country, Australia. The Hon. Victor Dominello MP, Minister for Citizenship and Communities – NSW attended this meeting. Also among the attendees were: the Chaldean National Congress represented by Mr Sam Yousif and Mr Ibrahim Balo, the Assyrian Australian Association, and other Iraqi community leaders and Iraqi organisations’ representatives.

Meeting of Chaldean Community Leaders and Organisations’ Representatives

The Chaldean Australian Society invited Chaldean community leaders and Chaldean organisations’ representatives in Sydney for a meeting at Fairfield community services centre in Fairfield NSW on 25^th July 2014. This is in the context of enhancing the relations among all components of Chaldean community in Sydney. The meeting focused on the current crisis of Christians in Mosul in home land Iraq. The attendees showed their sympathy, solidarity, and support to those displaced Christians from Mosul city.

Community Safety Precinct Committee (CSPC)

The Chaldean Australian Society participates regularly in the meetings of Community Safety Precinct Committee which are usually held at Fairfield Police Station.

Community Consultation about Australia’s 2014-15 Humanitarian Programme

The Committee of Chaldean Australian Society responded to the invitation from the Hon Scott Morrison MP- Minister for Immigration and Border Protection for the Community Consultation about Australia’s 2014-15 Humanitarian Programme on 21^st January 2014 represented by Mr Younan Yousif, the president, and Dr Emad Arabo, the committee member.

Social and Sport Activities

Fundraising for the Displaced Iraqi Christians

The committee members of Chaldean Australian Society participated on 24^th August 2014 in fundraising for the displaced Iraqi Christians from Mosul city. This fundraising was held in Sydney by the Chaldean National Congress with cooperation of our Chaldean Australian Society. For more pictures click here

Mother’s Day 2014

The Chaldean Australian Society held an evening for the occasion of “Mother’s Day” on 17^th May 2014 at Prairiewood Youth Centre, Prairiewood, NSW 2176.

Festival of Saint George

Members of the Chaldean Australian Society committee attended on 27^th April 2014 the festival of Saint George held by Khabour Chaldean Association on the gardens of Chipping Norton, Sydney.

الزيارات وتلبية الدعوات والاجتماعات

نزور، ونلبي الدعوات، ونقيم علاقات مع المنظمات الأخرى، وأعضاء البرلمان والوزراء، الفيدراليون والمحليون من حكومة الولاية ، ورؤساء واعضاء مجالس البلديات للتعريف بجمعيتنا ووضعهم في الصورة حول الكلدان وتقديم وجهات نظرنا ورأينا.

اجتماع تشاوري حول برنامج أستراليا الإنساني 2015-2016

في 16 نيسان 2015، شاركت الجمعية الكلدانية الاسترالية ممثلة بالسيد يونان يوسف، رئيس الهيئة الادارية، والدكتور عماد عربو، سكرتير الهيئة والمنسق الإداري، في اجتماع تشاوري مع معالي وزير الهجرة وحماية الحدود السيد بيتر دوتون، حول برنامج استراليا الإنساني للاجئين لعام 2015-2016 وبمشاركة منظمات المجتمع والهيئات الذروة. عبرنا عن مخاوفنا الخطيرة لأكثر من 120,000 مسيحي أجبروا على الفرار من مدينة الموصل وسهل نينوى الى اقليم كردستان ولبنان والأردن وتركيا. كما حثينا الحكومة الاسترالية على تخصيص عدد كبير من تأشيرات الدخول إلى ألاقليات العرقية والدينية العراقية في برنامجها الإنساني 2015-2016.

لقاء مع السيد دانيال بوير، السكرتيرالمساعد للشؤون الإنسانية في وزارة الهجرة وحماية الحدود

في 23 تشرين الاول 2014، التقت الجمعية الكلدانية الاسترالية ممثلة بالسيد يونان يوسف، رئيس الهيئة الادارية، والدكتور عماد عربو، سكرتير الهيئة والمنسق الإداري، مع السيد دانيال بوير، السكرتيرالمساعد للشؤون الإنسانية في وزارة الهجرة وحماية الحدود الاسترالية لمناقشة برنامج استراليا الإنساني للاجئين فيما يتعلق بالمسيحيين العراقيين والأقليات الأخرى. وضحنا للسيد بوير وضع المسيحيين العراقيين في وطنهم العراق ووضع المسيحيين العراقيين طالبي اللجوء واللاجئين في الدول المجاورة للعراق. بدوره ابدى السيد بوير تعاطفه مع المسيحين العراقيين النازحيين وتفهمه لأوضاعهم الفظيعة.

اجتماع قادة المجتمع العراقي الاسترالي

الجمعية الكلدانية الأسترالية ممثلة بالسيد يونان يوسف ، الرئيس، والدكتور عماد عربو، المنسق الإداري، شاركت في اجتماع قادة المجتمع العراقي الاسترالي الذي عقد في 22 ايلول 2014 في مكتبة الدولة – نيو ساوث ويلز من قبل مفوضية العلاقات المجتمعية – التعدد الثقافي – حكومة نيو ساوث ويلز لمناقشة عدد من القضايا لتعزيز السلام والوئام الاجتماعي في هذه الولاية وهذا البلد، أستراليا. حضر هذا الاجتماع معالي وزير المواطنة والمجتمعات في حكومة نيو ساوث ويلز السيد فيكتور دومنيلو. أيضا من بين الحضور: المجلس القومي الكلداني ممثلا بالسيد سمير يوسف والسيد إبراهيم بلو، والجمعية الآشورية الاسترالية، وعدد من قادة المجتمع العراقي وممثلي المنظمات العراقية.

لقاء قادة المجتمع الكلداني وممثلي المنظمات الكلدانية

دعت الجمعية الكلدانية الاسترالية قادة المجتمع الكلداني وممثلي المنظمات الكلدانية في سدني الى اجتماع عقد في مركز فيرفيلد لخدمات المجتمع في فيرفيلد نيو ساوث ويلز في 25 تموز 2014. هذا في سياق تعزيز العلاقات بين جميع مكونات المجتمع الكلداني في سيدني. ركز الاجتماع على الأزمة الحالية للمسيحيين في الموصل في أرض الوطن العراق. وأظهر الحضور التعاطف والتضامن والدعم لهؤلاء المسيحيين النازحين من مدينة الموصل.

اللجنة المحلية لسلامة المجتمع (CSPC)

الجمعية الكلدانية الأسترالية تشارك بانتظام في اجتماعات اللجنة المحلية لسلامة المجتمع والتي عادة ما تقام في مركز شرطة فيرفيلد.

استشارة المجتمع حول البرنامج الإنساني الأسترالي 2014-2015

لبت الهيئة الادارية للجمعية الكلدانية الاسترالية الدعوة من معالي سكوت موريسون وزير الهجرة وحماية الحدود لمشاورة المجتمع حول البرنامج الإنساني الأسترالي 2014-2015 في 21 كانون الثاني 2014 ممثلة بالسيد يونان يوسف ، الرئيس، والدكتور عماد عربو، عضو الهيئة الادارية.

جمع التبرعات للمسيحيين العراقيين المهجرين

شارك أعضاء الهيئة الادارية للجمعية الكلدانية الأسترالية في 24 أب 2014 في جمع التبرعات للمسيحيين العراقيين المهجرين من مدينة الموصل. وقد أقيم جمع التبرعات هذا في سيدني من قبل المجلس القومي الكلداني بالتعاون مع جمعبتنا الكلدانية الأسترالية. لمشاهدة الصور انقر هنا

يوم الأم 2014

عقدت الجمعية الكلدانية الاسترالية أمسية بمناسبة “عيد الأم” يوم 17 ايار 2014 على مركز Prairiewood للشباب في Prairiewood، NSW 2176.

مهرجان القديس جورج

حضر أعضاء من الهيئة الادارية للجمعية الكلدانية الأسترالية يوم 27 نيسان 2014 مهرجان القديس جورج الذي أقامته جمعية خابور الكلدانية في حدائق جبنغ نورتن، سيدني.
